Place de la Bastille
1,475 sq ft flat with garage

Location

Right in the middle of the “Bastille” district, with an unobstructed view of the Canal, the Opera House, and the “Spirit of Liberty” topped July Column. Building having known the Revolution, completely renovated, with lift, and wonderful stairwell. Voltaire, after a period of imprisonment in the Bastille where he completed “Oedipus”, was attributed an annuity of 1,000 crowns by the Prince Regent. On his release, he is said to have declared “I thank your Royal Highness for having taken care of my food, but would ask that my accommodation no longer be included”. However, with this advertisement, more than 300 years later, we are now suggesting the exact opposite.

Description

In the top floors of the building, a 1,475 sq ft single storey, horseshoe-shaped, quadruple-aspect flat with masses of natural light, above one of the most beautiful of Parisian courtyards which is overlooked by half of the ten windows that illuminate the premises. The living room and all living areas intercommunicate in true Bastille spirit. The three bedrooms are, however, totally independent of one another. The inside is fully modernized but has lost its authenticity in making room for modern, sober home comforts. Well insulated with parquet flooring throughout. Locked garage nearby.

Our opinion

This horseshoe-shaped flat from which the entire square can be seen through to the canal is extremely luminous and makes the most of a layout ideal for fans of wide open spaces.
