Manor with large outbuildings facing the sea in Perros-Guirec
Direct beach access. 500 km (313 miles) from Paris, 4 hours by TGV train, 1 hour by airplane. Links to London.
With 1.2 ha (3 acres) of landscaped gardens sloping down to the sea, the property is built on a plateau, giving a 180° unobstructed view of the sea. A private sea access leads to one of the most beautiful beaches on the pink granite coast.
The property comprises 3 houses of different sizes. All three benefit from the same situation. All three have been recently renovated; everything has been completely revamped, including the gardens.
Material from a local 16th century chapel including gargoyles, dressed stone and window framing was reused in the main dwelling which was built of granite ashlar blocks at the beginning of the 20th century. The inside of this building, already outstanding due to the old stones that were reused, was decorated with great care as carved beams, oak panelling and medieval-style paintings show.
Comprising 4 bays, the main building has a main-slope, open-gable roof. On the front facade, on the road side, is a projection of the left side, the gable of which acts as a support for a decorative chimney flue. The bay on the right side, covered by a slope, protrudes slightly. On the rear façade is a lateral bay topped by a large gable roof dormer in which a loggia covered by a triangular arch is recessed. On the side facades is a turret, partly incorporated into the carcass, with a conical roof, and a stonework bow window topped with a balcony. The windows are casement or checkrail windows. The roof dormers are topped by triangular stonework gable pediments, certain lintels are adorned with ogees.
On the inside, spanning 475 m² (5,113 sq ft) over four stories, the manor notably has several lounges, a dining room-kitchen with exposed beams, 5 bedrooms with shower rooms. On the top floor is a large 65 m² (700 sq ft) reception area with a monumental fireplace adorned with paintings, and an exposed roofing framework, with a 6.2 m (20.3 ft) high ceiling. All the rooms have sea views. Terracotta tiles or parquet flooring cover the floors.
The two other houses belonging to the property were built earlier, at the end of the 19th century. 140 m² (1,507 sq ft) over 3 stories for the first and 100 m² (1,076 sq ft) with 2 stories built over a cellar for the second, they could be used for caretakers or as guest houses.
There is also a garage, a greenhouse, a vegetable garden, an ornamental pool and a well. The property has two entrances.
A unique site with a unique property. On the Mediterranean coast, the superlatives used to describe such a property would only be equalled by its price; however, in beautiful Brittany, it is customary to be restrained, and so we would simply say, extraordinary, the synonyms of which range from “marvellous” to “amazing”.
