Description

The manor
Main feudal building of a fortified farm built in the 12th century, very probably modified into a manor in the 15th century with the addition of a corner tower, this perfectly independent property is accessed from the street via entrance gates consisting of stone pilasters and wrought iron gates.
3,300 m² (0.82 acres) of well-kept parklands, including grasslands and planted with trees, surround the building on three sides.
Solid in construction, the walls of the dwelling and the tower are built of exposed stones; all the roofs, including the candle-snuffer roof are of old local tiles.
Inside, the floors and the stairways are of terracotta tiles and oak wood, the beams are exposed and the fireplaces are of stone or marble.

The ground floor comprises a large entrance hall, a 65 m² (700 sq ft) reception room, a summer kitchen, a wine cellar (in the tower) and a machine room.
An intermediary floor comprises a small 5.5 m² (59 sq ft) lounge.
The 1st floor includes a 45 m² (484 sq ft) lounge-dining room, a kitchen, a 22.5 m² (242 sq ft) study-library and 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms with toilet.
The 2nd floor consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 shower room with toilet and a study. There are various hall areas throughout the entire building.

Outbuildings include an adjoining 70 m² (753 sq ft) barn in use as garage.

Our opinion

Currently occupied as a main residence, the property, known locally as “The Castle” exudes an authentic, unspoilt aura. The farm backing on to the building via two perpendicular wings does not cause any particular nuisance; on the contrary, it provides a feeling of security and neighbourliness. Its relative proximity to Paris is an additional asset for those looking to acquire a holiday home that is rapidly accessible from the capital by road.
