Near to a listed village

Description

The property
This cliff top property is surrounded by parklands of ten hectares (24.7 acres), nine (22.2 acres) of which are sold with the manor house. Two other residences share the fully enclosed property.
It is accessed by tall gates with a security system.

All the properties inside the parklands share the same driveway. Trees of over one hundred years old indicate the size of the estate. A unique view takes in the loops of the Seine. A communal footpath, shared with the inhabitants of the village, leads down to the river bank. A paved path makes it possible for a boat to be taken down from the property to be put in the water. It is worthy of note that it is also possible to purchase the caretaker’s cottage at the entrance to the parklands.

The manor house
This 1900 Normandy manor house spanning 800 m² of living space over 4 stories with approx. 7 ha (17.3 acres) has a tiled, gable roof featuring Jacobin-style dormer windows and chimney stacks. Its terraces have outstanding views over the Seine, in an unspoilt setting. The entire south facade has an unobstructed view over the river.
Everything is grandiose. The adjoining lounges on the ground floor make it possible to quantify the spaciousness of the lounges, the hall areas and the stairway as well as the gallery facing the Seine. The lounges and dining room on this floor, with their oak wood herringbone parquet flooring or large floor tiles, each span 60 m² (646 sq ft). The splendour of the past is omni-present throughout the residence. The fireplaces, including one from the 18th century, wainscoting and ceilings with their exposed beams are all indications of the quality of this property.

The guest house
The outbuildings of the manor house, commissioned and built in the 1920’s for one of our great captains of industry, as a guest house, it is nevertheless today in an ideal geographical setting with, in the basement, an incredible North African-style mosaic swimming pool. All overlooking the Seine. This dwelling communicates with the manor house by means of a long glazed gallery. The facade is adorned with a chessboard pattern of flint and quarry stone and a half-timbered section. It features numerous small-paned windows. The gable, tiled roof is adorned with dormer windows with projecting eaves. The inside has been carefully and luxuriously restored and comprises three suites with bathrooms, five bedrooms with bathrooms, a large kitchen, a summer kitchen and an outdoor terrace. The atrium, swimming pool and sports room in the basement are decorated in an Art Deco-style featuring 1930’s mosaics.
The building, spanning a floor surface area of 850 m² (9,149 sq ft) over three floors, features fireplaces, parquet flooring and wainscoting.

The manor house and the guest house span a total of approx. 1,600 m² (1,722 sq ft) of living space with 15 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms.

Our opinion

The mythical home of an industrialist who unquestionably knew how to leave his mark for all to see. The facilities are luxurious.
An impressive view point that is the same for the entire estate. The lounges, hall and gallery await functions that will bring back the splendour of the past.
Its guest house, with its basement sport’s room, swimming pool, massage parlour and changing rooms, is an astonishing house with the most amazing architectural features, bearing witness to the genius of one our great captains of industry.
The sober but elegant restoration and decoration will enable future owners to move in straight away without having to undertake any works.
All leisure activities are nearby: golf, water sports, hill climbing, hiking and horse riding.
