Location
On the outskirts of the French department of Champagne, in Seine-et-Marne, 90 km (56 miles) from Paris and 15 minutes from a town with all shops and amenities.
Petit Morin valley. Undulating rural surroundings, alternating woods, grasslands, cereal crops, market gardening and orchards.
Description
This small Briarde farmhouse, the construction of which dates back at least to the early 19th century, has recently undergone full renovation works.
The local stone walls are pointed with white rendering.
The roof is covered with small, old, brown tiles.
The main gable roof features two roof dormers, one a window and one a French window, and is topped with curved ridge tiles. To the rear, a square extension breaks the alignment, thus forming a corner taken up by a glazed veranda with a three-sloped, hipped end roof, mounted half-way up a stone wall and providing access on the parklands and swimming pool side.
A sloping-roofed lean-to (30 m² / 323 sq ft) adjoining a gable wall is used as a hangar, woodshed and garage.
The varied shaped windows are all protected by external wooden shutters, with the exception of the window of the large, first floor bedroom which has an electric rolling shutter.

Our opinion
Situated in the heart of the countryside, on a little used road, this nuisance-free property benefits from total peace and quiet. The view over the surrounding countryside extends for as far as the eye can see.
The outside of the building has kept its authentic architectural character.
Inside, the current owners have added all modern-day home comforts, making it possible to live there all year round, but at less than 100 km (63 miles) from Paris, the property would make an ideal holiday home for a large Parisian family looking for fresh air and tranquillity.
The stable and the size of the grounds would enable a horse rider to accommodate two horses.
And, let’s not forget the swimming pool, another feature of well-being.
