Location
Near to a town with 2,000 inhabitants, 45 km (28 miles) to the north of Nantes, the Nantes-Rennes roadway is less than 10 km (6 miles) away, making it possible to respectively reach the two administrative county towns in 40 and 50 minutes. The village shops have all essential items.
Description
In the peace and quiet of surroundings composed of fields and grasslands, in more than 1 ha (2.47 acres) of gardens, stands a group of south-facing, stone buildings spanning approx. 440 m² (4,736 sq ft) of living space over two floors. The slate roofs of the buildings feature roof dormers with projecting eaves.
The building was entirely restored by craftsmen in 2009, new windows were put in its facades, and its blue stone masonry largely reworked. Two thirds of the oak roofing frameworks were replaced.
The ground floor spans approx. 280 m² (3,014 sq ft) and comprises an entrance hall, a lounge with a blue stone monumental fireplace, a dining room, a kitchen, a study, a laundry room and a recording studio. Burgundy stone floor tiles, “pierre-vue” aerial lime pointing on all the interior walls and exposed beams.
A solid oak stairway leads upstairs to approx. 160 m² (1,722 sq ft) that includes a landing, three bedrooms, a 38 m² (409 sq ft) master bedroom with a dressing room, and two bathrooms (including one of 21 m² / 226 sq ft).
The annex comprises a workshop, a storeroom, a boiler room as well as a lean-to for cars. A bread oven.
Our opinion
Such a lot of recent works, the present owners had no idea that they would have to leave so quickly before lavishing so much care on this property. The outsides await their turn along with a few outstanding internal works, and all will be finished.
