Castle wing and orangerie surrounded by water-filled moats close to Montereau

Location

Between 70 and 85 km (44 & 53 miles) from Paris, depending on the route, close to Montereau in the French department of Seine & Marne, near to a small village in a rural and pastoral setting. 19th century, L-shaped castle and its outbuildings, bordered by water-filled moats, spanned by a small bridge.
The previous owner divided the estate into several units.

Description

The unit for sale comprises 2,800 m² (0.7 acres) land, together with:
- A castle wing with a total surface area of approx. 800 m² (8,610 sq ft), over 4 floors excluding cellars, which is a ground surface area of 200 m² (2,153 sq ft). Three floors (600 m² / 6,458 sq ft) are fully renovated (apart from one room) and lived in. The top floor is attic space which could possibly be converted into 6 to 8 bedrooms. This wing is the most recent part of the estate.

Our opinion

This is obviously, only part of the castle, but the separation of the estate has been cleverly thought out and now resembles a small hamlet rather than a castle divided into pieces.
