This Directoire-style hunting lodge was built at the beginning of the 19th century on the site of an old feudal castle. The wings were added at the end of the Second Empire period.
The castle (approx. 400 m² / 4,305 sq ft with approx. 150 m² / 1,615 sq ft of attic space
The central pavilion is topped with a slate hip roof. The extensions feature zinc roof terraces surrounded by stone balusters.
In the middle of the main, perfectly symmetrical facade, decorated with a rounded pediment featuring a wrought tympanum, a wide curved stone stairway with pear-shaped balusters leads up to a terrace in the centre of which is an alcove flanked by two double doors opening into a large reception room. On one of the gable walls, another stone stairway with a terrace provides access to the main entrance hall via three double doors.
The external walls are covered with an ochre rendering decorated with mouldings. The tops of the windows and the cornices are raised with Directoire-style motifs. The windows are protected by wrought iron railings.
The floors feature tiles with inlaid decoration or herringbone or strip pattern oak parquet flooring.
Ground floor (approx. 250 m² / 2,691 sq ft)
A vast entrance hall, accessed from the side terrace, leads straight on to a wide corridor at the end of which is a stairway leading upstairs; left to an adjoining large lounge and dining room (with wainscoting and a fireplace) overlooking the large terrace; and right to a lounge (with fireplace) and bathroom and toilet facilities. To the rear and accessed via the dining room are a study, a kitchen and miscellaneous small rooms and hall areas. The wide marble stairway features wonderful wrought iron railings.
1st floor (approx. 150 m² / 1,615 sq ft)
A landing leading left to a bedroom with bathroom; right to a large bedroom, a bathroom and another bedroom, all adjoining; and straight on to a bedroom and a bathroom.
2nd floor under the rafters (approx. 150 m² / 1,615 sq ft)
The attic space (former staff bedrooms) awaits total renovation. It comprises one large room and four bedrooms.
