The property
Accessed via a private stone-lined roadway, behind wonderful wrought iron entrance gates, flanked by stone pilasters, the residence is built in the middle of enclosed parklands (approx. 1.5 ha / 3.7 acres) situated in 24 ha (59.3 acres) of woods and grasslands.
Dating from the beginning of the 19th century, the residence was built in the Louis XIII style.
To the rear, numerous outbuildings, including a 17th century priory, form a large courtyard. They are accessed via miscellaneous other entrances.
The residence (approx. 1,200 m² / 12,916 sq ft)
The walls are of red brick and stone. The entire building is covered by a slate roof adorned with some outstanding crests. The facade roof of the central building features six two-sloped roof dormers, two of which are large and have classical triangular pediments and the other four are smaller and have curved pediments.
The main building is flanked, on one side by a perpendicular pavilion, the facade roof of which features a large roof dormer with five two-sloped roof dormers on the gable wall. In each corner of this wing stands a circular tower, all four with candle-snuffer roofs.
At the opposite end, a slightly protruding, rectangular pavilion with a hip roof and featuring a two-sloped roof dormer forms the other gable wall.
The window framing and quoins are toothed, and together with the lower sections and the cornices with modillions and a dentil course are made of stone. Two balconies with cast iron railings adorn the facade.
Ground floor
A large kitchen (with service doors), a large reception room (approx. 250 m² / 2,691 sq ft) with an adjoining lounge. To the rear, a hall area, a toilet a study and the stairwell. In a tower, the oak stairway is fitted with wrought iron railings.
1st and 2nd floors (to be renovated)
On each floor, a corridor leading to several rooms would make it possible to create, depending on the future use, between 12 and 18 bedrooms and bathrooms.
The floors have flagstones, tiles and parquet flooring.
A cellar runs the full length and breadth of the building.
The outbuildings (approx. 2,000 m² / 21,527 sq ft)
A 6-roomed caretaker’s cottage and six other buildings are used as dwellings, a barn, a garden shed, a workshop, a stable, garages and a priory.
The grounds
25 ha (62 acres) of grasslands and woods planted with miscellaneous species. A small freshwater lake is fed by a rivulet running alongside the property.
Enclosed parklands with lawns and driveways extend in front of the facade and between the residence and the outbuildings at the back.
This chateau with its balanced harmonious proportions features an elegant architecture.
It is a country house full of potential as a large private residence or a professional project. The carcass is in a good state of repair. All that remains to perfect the property is the completion of the renovation works upstairs.
The outbuildings have been superbly converted and have all modern day comforts.
Situated in the middle of the countryside, in the centre of its immaculately kept, walled parklands, the property is away from all nuisances.
And lastly, we would reiterate that Paris is less than 50 km away.
