18th century castle in Provencal Drôme
In the Rhone Valley, near to a very lively town in Provencal Drôme.
This 18th century castle was redesigned at the beginning of the 19th century. Flanked by two towers and numerous outbuildings, it stands in the middle of wooded parklands with an ornamental lake.
Main building (580 m² / 6,243 sq ft of living space)
Ground floor: two lounges of 37 and 28 m² (398 and 301 sq ft), a 29 m² (312 sq ft) dining room, a kitchen that opens on to a 120 m² (1,292 sq ft) terrace, three bedrooms and two shower rooms.
1st floor: access to the 26 m² (280 sq ft) landing via a winding stairway which leads to four bedrooms and two attics spanning 35 and 30 m² (377 and 323 sq ft) which could be converted.
Large 350 m² (3,767 sq ft) outbuildings with vaulted cellars, a barn and a self-contained studio flat.
12x5 m (39.4x53.8 ft) swimming pool.
The residence is situated in the centre of 3 ha (7.41 acres) of terraced parklands. It is accessed by means of a horseshoe-shaped stairway featuring a source and an ornamental lake.
One hectare (2.47 acres) of truffle grounds could easily be worked once more.
The successive misfortunes experienced by the building over the years have always been advantageously overcome.
Despite the repairs, restorations and additions, an architectural unity has emerged thanks to the expertise of the different project managers and craftsmen.
History has therefore been responsible for a building that is unique in character.
The horseshoe-shaped stairway with a flight leading to the main terrace is a sufficiently rare architectural feature as to be outstanding.
Furthermore, the presence of stables and an abundance of water make this a property that could easily accommodate horses.
