Less than an hour from Paris between town and forest
Location
Between the Parisian Basin and the Picardy Plateau, on a hill dominating a town in the centre of the French department of Oise and on the outskirts of a large national forest.
Less than 100 km (63 miles) from the French capital, near to the north of France motorway network, 20 minutes from the nearest airport, and 40 minutes from Paris – Gare du Nord.

Description
In a town where history can be seen on every street corner, this construction must date back a hundred or so years, although the exact date of the foundations is not known. On the edge of approx. 9 ha (22.2 acres) of wooded parklands, comprising 2/3 woods and 1/3 plains, this residence was very probably built between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.
Having been previously occupied by the family of a deserving officer, and during the last war by the German Command, the property has since belonged to the same family for more than half a century.
Used for family purposes, it is lived in on a periodic and sometimes intensive basis depending on the occasion and the time of year.
A little way away, sheltered by undergrowth, are the annexes that include a caretaker’s cottage and the outbuildings, all of a different architecture.
The parklands, for the most part wooded with some particularly tall species, are landscaped around the manor house and stretch out to the west and the nearby countryside, which is also of a predominantly wooded nature.
Our opinion
A large house, laid out for use by a large family that likes to get together regularly. The external architecture is of great interest and the setting idyllic. The view is completely unobstructed and the surrounding parklands well laid out.
Alternating woods and land make it possible to go rambling as if on a much bigger property. The relay antenna mast installed at the rear and away from the residence but on the property, can only be seen from a distance, as it is above the tops of the trees. The nuisance can, therefore, be said to be minor.
