| Location Right next to Fontainebleau and the town of impressionist painters. An enclave in the “most beautiful forest in France”. 5 miles from a station.
Description This manor house with its large outbuildings (former hunting lodge), the foundations of which date back to Henry IV of France, is set in 39.5 acres of parklands (forest and parklands) featuring driveways and two wells, and enclosed by walls and wire fencing. The estate was redesigned over successive eras and is now unquestionably 19th century in appearance.
19th century U-shaped south-facing building with a round turret to the north west.
It spans 3 floors (excluding the cellar) with a total of approx. 5,382 sq ft of living space.
It can be accessed via numerous entrances and although originally only one, it is actually divided into two totally independent houses.
The outbuildings (caretaker’s cottage, guest house, barn, garage, sheds) are laid out around a square courtyard containing the swimming pool.
Bed & breakfast accommodation, tennis court, wood shed.
Our opinion An estate which has not lost its outbuildings.
Some of which could earn revenue by being rented on a monthly or weekly basis, made perfectly feasible by the geographic situation. The manor house currently divided into 2 quite separate houses could easily be returned to its original layout.
39.5 acres in the Fontainebleau forest out of a total of 10,121.5 demands an appreciation of Mother Nature.
