Description
The property :
This total surface area of more than 17 acres is accessed via a country lane which divides the property in two. Farmland and vegetable gardens are to the left (approx. 11 acres) and the buildings, parklands and orchards are to the right.
Built in the 19th century, most probably on older 18th century foundations, it initially belonged to the Carcassonne hospices.
After being partly destroyed during the French Revolution, it was rebuilt and extended in the 19th and early 20th centuries (wine storehouse) to satisfy its wine-producing requirements.
It comprises a large house with miscellaneous buildings formerly dedicated to vine-growing.
The large house :
overlooks the parklands and an orchard to the south and there is a meadow and a second orchard to the north. It spans a total surface area of approx. 7,265 sq ft.
The West wing outbuildings :
span a total surface area of approx. 5,812 sq ft, including a ground floor and an upstairs.
The East wing outbuildings: (wine storehouse)
span a ground floor and two stories making a surface area of approx. 10,548 sq ft.

Our opinion
This large estate has many facets :
wooded parklands form a squirrel paradise, a vast orchard is ideal for jam-making, and it has a Tuscany-style meadow and numerous buildings.
This property is currently intended as a convivial family home being part of a peaceful environment but close to all amenities of the village as well as those of the nearby town of Carcassonne. However, the size of its developed surface area would lend itself to numerous projects.
Although immediately habitable in its present condition, this large house could benefit from some decoration works.
