Location The river Tarn, with its source in the French department of Lozère, flirts with the north of the Haute Garonne prior to flowing into the Garonne of which it is one of the biggest tributaries. This river, now canalized, is obviously an excellent site for fishing, and above all, exceptional views.
19 miles from Toulouse,
19 miles from Toulouse-Blagnac airport,
1.5 miles from a village with all amenities.
Description The property: on the waterside on the edge of the river Tarn and with a total surface area of 14.8 acres, this property has a variety of landscapes as if it were a concentrate of the region in which it is set. It is a combination of well-maintained parklands full of trees, a wilder wooded section, a vast clearing, a fenced-in meadow where several hind frolic, and an impressive esplanade giving access to the banks of the Tarn. The setting is bordered to the east by the Tarn, to the west by one of its small tributaries, both of which form natural limits, and is walled-in to the south along the access road, giving it total privacy. Two entrance gates give access to the property; one leading to the castle and the large luxurious house, and the other to the caretaker’s cottage which could be totally independent.
I - The castle (approx. 9,687 sq ft): Built entirely of bricks, it spans a ground floor, first floor and a partial second floor. The sober facade is flanked to the right by a covered terrace that opens on to the swimming pool and the parklands through semi-circular arches. The current owners have carefully restored the castle throughout and installed all home comforts whilst preserving all the original features that could be saved.
II - Large luxurious house (approx. 2,691 sq ft): Situated to the east of the castle and extended by the wine storehouse, it has all the assets of a 19th century house belonging to one of the leading citizens. The house has several attractive features that include marble fireplaces, stucco decorations, sculpted overdoors, etc.
III - Caretaker’s cottage (approx. 1,399 sq ft)
IV - The outbuildings:
Wine storehouse (floor surface area of 5,382 sq ft).
Two garages.
Dovecote.
Gazebo.
Our opinion These surroundings are genuinely exceptional due, not only, to the river Tarn, but also to the diversity of shrubs and bushes contained in the parklands. These sober, quality buildings made welcoming by their brick facades are numerous: their layout is such that several families could live there and take advantage of all the features contained in the property without getting in one another’s way. This property would also, however, lend itself to professional purposes, exhibitions, function room, holiday accommodation, etc. . This delightful setting would be ideal for numerous projects.
