An 18th century mansion house in the heart of a Burgundy town of art and history
In the heart of Burgundy in a town of art and history, this mansion house is situated just a stone’s throw from the TGV train station, 3 hours from Paris on the A6/A38 motorway, 100 minutes from Paris by TGV train and near to Dijon-Longvic airport.
This mansion house built at the beginning of the 18th century comprises a main building with the main entrance, an inner courtyard and a wing set at right angles with its entrance door leading out on to the courtyard and the road. The main entrance porch way, opening into the small courtyard, stands on the main road, with a plain coat-of-arms in its upper section and pilasters with scrolled capitals adorned with shells.
This Louis XV style house spanning three stories has a terrace featuring balusters. Large windows illuminate the main rooms. Their lintels are adorned with the scrolls, garlands of flowers and fruit which are present on the pilasters. This decoration is also featured on the facade built of beautiful dressed stone.
The construction materials are of a good quality as are the Burgundy stone used for the facade and the flat varnished Burgundy tiles used for the roof.
Inside, the oak parquet floors are in pristine condition, there is a French ceiling in the kitchen and a beaded ceiling in the lounge. This room also contains half a dozen painted panels composed of imitations in the style of Boucher and Mignard with scenes of gallantry and the countryside and a seascape worthy of the 17th century Dutch painter.
The property is completed by the varying types of fireplaces which are in some of the rooms; some are from the 18th century period whereas that of the lounge is in the style of Louis XIV.
The house has a surface area in the region of 350 m² (3,767 sq ft), all of which can be lived in straightaway. There is also a cellar and an attic.
A wonderful mansion house in an old Roman castrum, well situated near to the town centre and its shops. It is a beautiful house spanning almost 350 m² (3,767 sq ft), all of which is in a good state of repair and immediately habitable. A few small renovation works could be envisaged but nothing major. This south-facing mansion house is both luminous and spacious. It has a double entrance with carriage gates opening on to the street and an entrance via the porch way and the inner courtyard. A car can be quite safely parked in the latter. A large terrace, surrounded by a balustrade, opens on to the street. The wing of the mansion house set at right-angles could accommodate a doctor’s surgery or any other professional’s office.
This mansion house does not have French Historic Monument classification but its geographical situation and its history could make it eligible.
