Property facing the sea
in South Finistere

Location

In a town of 2,500 inhabitants. 550 km (344 miles) from Paris, 4 hours by TGV train. At the mouth of a South Finistere ria. In a small seaside resort, facing the sea, surrounded by countryside and cliffs. Close proximity to a small port, making a mooring a possibility.

Description

This 1920’s Anglo-Saxon-style house, in a dominant position, spans more than 5,000 m² (1.24 acres). Having kept its numerous original features, this granite and local stone house, with its slate roof, has numerous period features in pristine condition such as its wainscoting, arched brick fireplaces, outward-opening windows, etc.
Still with its original architecture, the house spans four stories with close to 350 m² (3,767 sq ft) of living space:
The ground floor comprises an entrance hall leading to a large 60 m² (646 sq ft) lounge opening on to a large terrace facing the sea, a dining room - kitchen and a dressing room.
The first floor comprises four bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room.
The second floor includes two bedrooms and a bathroom. It should be noted that all the rooms have parquet flooring and wood and brick or ceramic fireplaces.
The basement comprises a kitchen, a bedroom as well as several cellars and laundry rooms. Two stairways lead upstairs: a main wooden stairway and a back stairway situated in a tower, flanking the west side of the building. The property has two entrances, one of which gives direct access to the sea.

Our opinion

An ideal situation on the south Finistere border. Sea access, dominant position and the original architectural character of a building are extremely important features in this region of Brittany. This property has all three. However, some attention is needed throughout and some light works need to be scheduled.
