Girded by the church and the castle of a village with 700 inhabitants, 6.25 miles from the A10 motorway exit, 47 miles south west of Paris and 12.5 miles from Chartres.
Description
This group of buildings, used for residential and farming purposes, forms a square courtyard with several accesses to public roads.
A total floor surface area of approx. 16,145 sq ft, divided between the various barns, the largest of which with a ridge 32.81 ft high has a floor surface area of 3,498 sq ft.
One of the outbuildings of the neighbouring castle comprises the residential section. Dating from the 15th/16th century, the upper part of the building was redesigned in the 18th century.
A remarkable series of cylindrical cross-ribbed vaults alternated with barrel vaults can still be seen.
Said building has a total floor surface area of 4,305 sq ft and it extends the same architecture into a chapel.
The land, totalling 1.73 acres, is predominantly made up of the central courtyard and orchards.
Our opinion
Many buildings with an outstanding history or architecture have been occupied at some point during their life by farmers. This very often made it possible to “hide” and, therefore, preserve architectural period features.
Such is the case in this instance, with perhaps the possibility of ISMH classification for part of the property.
An ideal place for a tourist or hotel and catering activity.
