This pleasant priory is situated in the centre of a village close to Culoz (TGV train station with direct links to Geneva/Lyon/Paris). Close to the known site of Lavours Marsh Nature Reserve, the property is also within reach of Aix-les-Bains (25 minutes) and Chambéry (35 minutes). Description
Originally a stronghold house built by the Princes of Monfalcon, the main building dates from the 16th and 17th centuries. Before becoming a private residence towards the end of the 19th century, the estate was a priory for Visitandine nuns.

The main building covering approx. 2,153 sq ft was entirely renovated in 2004 (including facades and roofs). The comfortable, luminous interior areas span three stories. Large kitchen, several lounges (including one that has been specifically converted to give perfect acoustics and where small music concerts may be held), a study, eight bedrooms, a bathroom, 2 shower rooms and miscellaneous box rooms.
A large annex building, probably once the hunting lodge, also spans approx. 2,153 sq ft. It is perfectly sound and awaits conversion of its three existing stories on the inside. Stables and barns.

This Lower Bugey region with its easy access to Geneva, its high tourist potential and its reasonable prices is more and more sought-after by those who wish to combine the authenticity of old stone and absolute tranquillity with the proximity of large towns. The property is not only welcoming and comfortable but also makes it possible to envisage numerous developments for tourist purposes.
