Description
The estate
On land which once belonged to the superintendent of King Louis XIV, Nicolas Fouquet, a great land owner in the Gulf of Morbihan, this group of buildings stands on more than 30 ha (77 acres) of untenanted land, comprising gardens, grasslands and a lake. A quiet tree-lined driveway leads from the road to a courtyard formed by the various buildings.
The dwelling
A traditional stone farmhouse, dating from the 19th century, spans two stories under an overhanging slate roof, featuring triangular pediment, internal dormers. It has approx. 340 m² (3,660 sq ft) of living space.
The ground floor comprises a granite, semi-circular arched doorway that opens into an entrance hall. Said hall leads to the right to a kitchen that opens into a dining room, a 41 m² (441 sq ft) lounge with a fireplace; to the left to a 50 m² (538 sq ft) reception room and a pantry; and straight on to an extension which houses a summer kitchen/dining room, a lounge, a toilet and a machine room. There are marble tiles with inlaid decoration throughout except in the entrance hall which has shale tiles. Exposed beams.
The first floor comprises a landing that leads to seven bedrooms including the master bedroom with its dressing room and bathroom, a bathroom, a shower room and a storage area. The parquet flooring is carpeted.
Outbuildings
A two-storey, stone, traditional farmhouse-style building with a slate roof comprises a boiler room, a room and a wine cellar.
Attic space spanning approx. 120 m² (1,292 sq ft).
To the right of the entrance to the property stands a garage spanning approx. 70 m² (753 sq ft) which has a 27 m² (291 sq ft) studio flat upstairs.

Our opinion
Despite the necessary internal improvement works, the situation and the quality of the property are quite outstanding. It is also outstanding to have such a large surface area free of any restrictions in this coastal region.
