Description
A driveway, going down the hillside from the local road, runs along the side of the lake and leads to the bottom of the small valley where a large, luxurious home and its outbuildings stand around a vast esplanade.
The estate with its 10.6 continuous ha (26.2 acres), bordered by the Creuse, also comprises two islands covering an additional surface area of 3.2 ha (7.9 acres).
The large, luxurious home
Its position so close to the water tends to indicate that it was once a mill. It would then have been redesigned and transformed during the 18th century, thus becoming a leisure property. Its north facade, facing the parklands is very sober with four openings framed with dressed stone on the first and second floors. On this side, the hip roof covered with local, flat tiles features two roof dormers. A more recent construction, probably from the 20th century, adjoins the south facade.
290 m² (3,121 sq ft) of living space spans three floors.
Ground floor: a through entrance hall, two lounges, one of which needs some attention, a dining room, a kitchen, a cloakroom and a toilet.
1st floor: two flats, each comprising a bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe, a bathroom and a toilet.

The outbuildings
The children’s house also has a local flat tiled roof and is in a good state of repair.
Approx. 190 m² (2,045 sq ft) with an 80 m² (861 sq ft) living room on the ground floor and three bedrooms and three bathrooms with toilets upstairs.
The caretaker’s cottage has four main rooms (70 m² / 753 sq ft) awaiting renovation inside and it is adjoined to a shed currently in use as a garage.
There is a vast 120 m² (1,292 sq ft) covered courtyard with a horse loose box and a 45 m² (484 sq ft) barn for sheltering the equipment required for maintaining the property.
A superb meadow is bordered on one side by the river and, on the other, by a wood.
Our opinion
Three independent, reasonably-sized houses, two of which can be lived in straightaway.
Water is omnipresent due not only to the river which flows under the windows of the main building but also due to the lake where it would be fun to go boating. There are also grasslands, a wood and the islands, enabling young adventurers to make up some wonderful stories.
In short, a real family property where everyone, whether big or small, will take pleasure in getting together in the unspoilt countryside.
