An 18th century leisure property to the south of Beaune
To the south of Beaune with access via the A6 motorway; 2½ hours from Paris and 2 hours from Lyon. Beaune SNCF train station and Dijon TGV train station with daily links between Dijon and Beaune.
The property is very easy to get to, in a sector that has a good tourist trade and local businesses specialised in the wine producing industry.
The property comprises an 18th century middle-class house, a dovecote built of exposed stone with ashlar blocks and outbuildings, one of which has been converted into holiday accommodation.
The facades of the main residence open on to a small garden at the front of the house, and on to a large garden and an orchard at the rear. The residence is composed of two buildings, one of which was obviously added shortly after the date of the initial construction.
French windows open into the main rooms on the ground floor: a lounge, a large kitchen and a dining room. Wide windows, the size of which is typical of the 18th century, are interspersed with the French windows. On the first floor, the bedroom windows are smaller but greater in number. The rooms on the top floor are illuminated by means of roof dormers.
It is a house with simple but effective architecture, surrounded by a small entrance garden that stops it being overlooked from the main road.
The outbuildings provide a long blind wall for a dirt track around the property. A track which provides access to the orchard, the gardens, the rear of the buildings as well as a nearby meadow.
In the inner courtyard, the wall of the outbuildings contains large, wide entrance porch ways. One section is converted into holiday accommodation of which only the ground floor is used and two thirds are farm sheds and storage areas that can notably be dedicated to wine tasting, a great local tradition.
The property is ideally situated in a geographical area near to the town of Beaune, within easy reach of main roads and motorways. It is a large, well-kept family house with interesting outbuildings that make it possible to receive family and friends.
Surrounded by gardens and protected by entrance gates, this extremely classical residence has several old features such as certain fireplaces or ceilings. The main rooms have all been renovated and are, therefore, in such a condition that it is possible to move into the residence straightaway without having to carry out any works.
