In the south of the French department of Finistère, a region with a wealth of luxuriant scenery which has much inspired artists, just a few minutes from the sea and very close to a town centre. A no-through, tree-lined avenue turns off a road to provide access to this property. The main road can be reached in 10 minutes; the nearest station is 20 minutes away.

Description

After 400 m, said tree-lined avenue provides access, left, to the main building and, right, to the outbuildings. This property is set in quiet, protected surroundings comprising woods, gardens and cultivated land. It includes a main building, a farm building, a section of which can be lived in, two farm sheds, a woodshed, an old greenhouse and the ruins of an old house.

The manor house

This residence, dating from the 18th century and redesigned in the 19th century, is built of rendered quarry blocks. It spans approx. 450 m² of living space over two levels, topped with converted attic space, and has a stairway outside of the fabric of the building. The slate roof features three triangular pediment roof dormers. The main facade faces south.


Ground floor
A vestibule, with floor tiles, divides the ground floor into two sections. It provides access, right, to a small lounge which precedes a dining room with a fireplace and, left, to a lounge with a fireplace and panelling. Said vestibule continues, on the right-hand side, to two storerooms as well as a kitchen and, on the left-hand side, to a room in use as a cellar. On the right-hand side of the entrance door are a toilet and a stairway leading upstairs. The lounges and the dining room all have parquet flooring.
First floor
This level comprises six bedrooms and a bathroom as well as a few hall areas. It has parquet flooring throughout and the walls are panelled.
Second floor
The rooms on this floor under the rafters have been partially converted. The landing provides access to three bedrooms and two attics.
Attic
The attic spaces can be reached via a stairway.

The outbuildings

Behind the manor house stand a woodshed (approx. 45 m²), an old greenhouse and the ruins of an old house. Set at right angles is a building resembling a traditional, long farmhouse. It comprises a section that can be lived in (an entrance hall, a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a shower room), a workshop (110 m²) and a garage (35 m² and 16 m²). There is also another traditional farmhouse that is partially habitable and a farm shed.

Our opinion

This charming residence still has many of its original interior features and the few inevitable works that it requires in terms of modern-day comfort will enable new owners to combine the useful with the pleasant. The setting of the property is delightful and the proximity of the sea as well as miscellaneous, very popular tourist sites adds a certain touch of summer to this extremely appealing property.
