In the French department of Côtes-d'Armor, near to Guingamp. All local shops and amenities (primary and secondary schools, hospital, doctors) are in town. The TGV train station with direct links to Paris is less than five minutes away.


This manor house stands on the outskirts of a small market town. It is reached via a private driveway. The property comprises a manor house dating from 1660, an old barn and grounds spanning almost a hectare, crossed by a stream and comprising an old 6,000 m² orchard. The house blends superbly into its slightly urbanised, nuisance-free surroundings.

The manor house

The carcass has little changed since its construction which dates back to 1660, as is proved by an engraving in the stone of one of the facade roof dormers. The symmetrical facade, facing the courtyard, is set out around the entrance door, crowned with a triangular pediment and flanked by a window on either side. Upstairs, are three more windows and three gable roof dormers. The facade, on the entrance courtyard side, faces north-west. The opposing, almost identical facade, looking out over the garden, faces south-east. A small outbuilding with a flat roof adjoins the manor house.

Ground floor
The vestibule leads, right, to a lounge, spanning approx. 34 m², with a fireplace, and left to a lounge, with a fireplace, spanning 35 m² and providing access to a kitchen, as well as to a toilet and a bedroom, laid out upstairs in the little adjoining outbuilding. All the rooms are filled with through light.
First floor
The landing provides access to a large, through bedroom, with a fireplace, spanning approx. 27 m² as well as to two other 14 m² bedrooms. The shared bathroom has a toilet.
Second floor
This floor is predominantly taken up by a large bedroom, spanning approx. 30 m², with an open-plan bathroom and toilet. There is also an attic.
This old barn, spanning approx. 50 m², has an upstairs with a sloping ceiling. The building faces south-east.
The garden
In addition to the entrance courtyard, a garden, spanning almost a hectare, stretches north-east in front of the outbuilding and south-east in front of the facade. Crossed by a stream on a lower level, it also includes an old 6,000 m² orchard.

Our opinion

The double slopes of the roof and the gable roof dormers on the facades delightfully soften the monolithic appearance of this manor house, featuring a strong, robust architecture. Renovated 30 years ago by a well-known architect, this residence is immaculately kept and in a good general state of repair: the buildings are sound and require but a little attention. This property, with a brook winding its way along the bottom of the land and an attractive view of the orchard, has all the advantages of the town and those of the countryside. This setting is pleasant to live in and the house is of a reasonable size, making it ideal as a home for a family with children, who could be numerous as the attic on the second floor could be converted into one or two extra bedrooms.
