In the French department of Ille-et-Vilaine, on the borders of the Britany, Normandy and Pays-de-Loire regions.
The regional capital is less than an hour away via the A84, known as the “Estuary motorway” which passes within a distance of 15 km.
The centre of a market town is but 10 minutes away and the surrounding villages have all shops and amenities.


A narrow country lane, a turning off the secondary road, leads to the small hamlet containing this property. Although peaceful, it is not isolated. The property stands on approx. 3,700 m² of enclosed land.
Once through the gates, on the left-hand side, are an old building, now used as a shed, the house and outbuildings, transformed into living space. On the right-hand side are another shed, a bread oven and an old pigsty.

The main house

This house is typical of the local dwellings that are difficult to categorise as farmhouses, manor houses or even stately homes. A great deal of attention was paid to its construction as its features, including dressed stone, window framing, quoins and chimney stacks, bear witness.
A rectangular building with a stairway, outside of the carcass, it spans 3 levels with approx. 275 m² of living space.

There is a bedroom with a sloping ceiling under the rafters.

The servants’ quarters

The servants’ quarters have been converted into three dwellings.
The first, spanning two levels with a total of approx. 128 m² of living space, comprises a living room with a kitchen area, a bedroom and a shower room with a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms, two shower rooms and a toilet.
The second dwelling, spanning approx. 56 m², comprises a living room with a kitchen area, a shower room with a toilet and a bedroom on a mezzanine floor.
The third dwelling, spanning a total living space of 78 m², comprises similar rooms.

The outbuildings

- A shed, transformed into a garage, spanning a floor surface area of 25 m².
- A lean-to adjoining the servants’ quarters, spanning 31 m².
- A shed.
- A 15 m² bread oven.
- A 19 m² pigsty.

Our opinion

The current owners of this extremely attractive property have recently invested in major conversion works which were meticulously carried out. Their successors can but benefit from these changes. They will also be able to decide on its new vocation: a home for a large family and/or a bed & breakfast activity. Whatever the choice, the house will inspire its new owners with a love of living in a pleasant setting.
