Just a stone’s throw from Square-Louise-Michel and Place-des-Abbesses,
a quiet, 38 m², through flat
Paris, PARIS paris 75018 FR

In the midst of Montmartre, 300 m from the Sacré-Cœur Basilica and 3-minutes’ walk from Place-du-Tertre as well as Place-des-Abbesses. Partially included in the site of old Montmartre, Rue-André-Barsacq begins with a flight of steps facing Square-Louise-Michel and is typical of the district, courtesy of the wide architectural variety of its buildings, of its verdant areas sometimes concealed in little courtyards and of the relief of the area characteristic of this district, and yet it remains very peaceful. The hustle and bustle of Rue-La-Vieuville and Rue-des-Martyrs is but a stone’s throw away. Near to two underground stations, Anvers on line 2 and Abbesses on line 12.

It is difficult to glimpse the flower-filled, wooded courtyard belonging to the co-owned building from the street. A delight to its residents, it provides a countrified air and confirms the fact that Montmartre is indeed a village. The immaculately kept building was constructed at the end of the 19th century but has benefitted from 21st century technical additions such as a recently installed videophone security system. A stairway goes up to the second floor. The door opens into a flat where period decorative features such as moulding, parquet flooring and fireplaces with marble mantels, have been preserved and maintained. This flat comprises a south-facing lounge, a bedroom overlooking the courtyard, a dressing room, a kitchen and a shower room. It also comes with a cellar.

The flat

A through flat, it looks out over the street and the courtyard. The entrance hall provides indiscriminate access to all the rooms. A south-facing lounge has parquet flooring, a fireplace, enhanced with black marble, a cupola and moulding. A quiet bedroom, overlooking the peaceful courtyard, has the same decorative features as the lounge. A semi-open-plan kitchen and a shower room with a toilet. A dressing room could easily be transformed into a little study as it has a window. This flat, just like its co-owned property, has been extremely well maintained.

Our opinion

This site nestles in the midst of a district which although very busy and convivial is also quiet, protected and sober, a village open to citizens from all over the world in a setting with a wealth of history and heritage. Functional and yet authentic, with its decorative features dating from the late 19th century, this flat would ideally suit a couple or a single person. It is set in the peace and quiet, just a flight of steps away from an unexpected courtyard, filled with trees, shrubs and a variety of plants.
