Avenue-Emile-Deschanel is one of the most prestigious addresses in Paris’ 7th arrondissement. The street has born the name of this French writer and politician since 1912. Numerous personalities have lived on this illustrious avenue. Champ-de-Mars is but 50 m away and all food shops are to be found nearby, notably along the famous Rue-Cler where there are also busy restaurants and cafés. Many schools with excellent reputations are in the vicinity. The district has a very good public transport system.

Description

The flat

This is the only flat on its floor. Double doors open into a vast entrance gallery, separated from the reception rooms by wide glazed doors featuring French style panes. The three reception rooms and the master bedroom, all overlooking the street, are steeped in sunlight via their double, south-west facing windows which, furthermore, provide clear views. Wrought railings protect small balconies. The large lounge is adorned with a fireplace. Floors are covered with herringbone parquet flooring. Ceilings and walls are decorated with moulding. There are another three bedrooms on the courtyard side. A dressing room and numerous cupboards. Two bathrooms and a shower room. The kitchen, with its back door, has its own breakfast or children’s eating area. It is completed by a pantry. Ceilings are high. A maid’s bedroom on the 7th floor is reached via the lift which goes up to the 6th floor. A cellar.

Our opinion

Champ-de-Mars is the only place in Paris which can amass postcard pictures, a strong feeling of history, a certain architectural gravity and a feeling of fresh air courtesy of its trees and large lawns. And, all of this can be seen from the windows of this flat. It is therefore easy to understand why such addresses are so highly sought-after. Furthermore, the interior decor also features refined ornamentation, enhanced by the size of the rooms, the light they are steeped in as well as their ease of movement. Those seeking physical exercise, so often lacking in the French capital, just have to go downstairs where the impressively immense structure of the Eiffel Tower in no way perturbs walkers and runners.
