In the midst of the Loire chateaux, the historic town of Tours, with its cultural and commercial activities as well as its historic centre classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This mansion house is ideally located facing Prébendes Park in the town centre. It is possible to visit all of the town and its landmarks on foot from here and the TGV train station is but 10 minutes away. All of the main Loire chateaux, from east to west, Chambord, Chenonceaux, Amboise, Villandry and Ussé are but a stone’s throw away. The banks of the river Loire are just a few minutes away for those who enjoy walking and cycling.


The tall, three-storey, freestone facade of this mansion house stands facing the town park. Perfectly symmetrical and reflecting the Directory style, its 12 openings are aligned vertically and horizontally, creating an impressive, elegant building. The four French windows on the ground floor open on to a terrace. Each of the four windows on the first floor are topped with a triangular, freestone pediment.
Decorative freestone features make the sober facade elegant.
Set at right angles to the rear of the mansion house is a more recent building. These two buildings consequently delimit an inner courtyard. In 2017, this property, spanning a surface area of approx. 600 m² of living space, was completely restored and converted into a conference room, offices and eight furnished flats of high-standing let for overnight stays.

The furnished flats

Perfectly laid out, all eight flats have been given 4 stars under the French “Meublé de tourisme”, furnished tourist accommodation, classification. Each of the flats have a fitted and fully equipped kitchen as well as first-class bed linen and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Other features include high-speed broadband, an HD television, a hi-fi unit, a safe, linen and independent remote-controlled reversible air-conditioning. All the flats have been meticulously furnished and decorated to give a contemporary sober finish.
The various flats are accessed via a vast hall and two stairways or a lift.
On the first floor:
- a two-bedroomed flat;
- two one-bedroomed flats;
- and a studio flat.
On the second floor:
- a one-bedroomed flat;
- and a studio flat.
On the third floor:
- a one-bedroomed flat;
- and a studio flat.

The conference room and its offices

The hall on the ground floor leads to a large function room that can accommodate between 20 and 40 people. Fitted with a video-projector, it is completely soundproof. It opens via three French windows on to a terrace facing Prébendes Park.
Large, double wooden doors at one end open into an office that also has access to the terrace. This is followed by a second office that can equally be reached via the hall.

The garages and machine rooms

On the ground floor of the more recent building, a large, tiled garage, spanning approx. 95 m2, has glazed openings overlooking the inner courtyard. It could easily be converted into additional offices. At the other end is a linen room. Similarly, the basement of the mansion house has been completely converted into a semi-professional kitchen with direct access to the function room, a room intended to house the air-conditioning machinery, a room housing domestic hot water heaters, an archive room and a room with a secure locker for each flat.

Our opinion

Tours, an hour from Paris and near to the famous Loire chateaux, is virtually in a dream location. In the midst of the region’s economic capital, this property is also in a central position, not only for those wishing to stay overnight but also for those seeking to organise conferences and other events.
Renovation works were recently carried out and all the facilities required for receiving the general public are installed and in line with current day standards. Up and running for two years, the activity is already profitable but has room for improvement and development. Both the geographic location and the work tool are ideal for an interesting short and long term investment.
