Legal Informations & CGU
In the heart of a region where the nature is outstanding and the historical heritage rich; it is also a winegrowing region where sparkling Crémant wine and Macvin du Jura liqueur wines are produced and in a thermal spa town where salt was mined in Gallo-Roman times. Baume Abbey, la Petite-Montagne, le Pays-des-Lacs and the Bresse lakes are all close by. The town is situated near a motorway and is 90 minutes from Lyon and Besançon by car and an hour from the major tourist sites in Beaune, Cluny and Tournus.
After climbing the few front porch steps, the entrance door opens on to a large vestibule with its stone floor with black marble inlaid decoration. A monumental stone staircase with its cast iron railings and intertwining gilded flower and leaf motifs leads to the first floor. Beyond the landing door on the first floor, a reception area leads to two reception rooms, a large and a small one, both with geometrically patterned parquet floors, of different woods, mouldings and French windows that open on to a terrace. One of the reception rooms opens in to the kitchen and leads to the back stairs as well as two adjoining rooms and a box room. A corridor leads to three rooms with herringbone parquet floors and wainscoting. And two tiled bathrooms.
From the terrace there is a view of a beautiful listed park, with its flowerbeds, a pond, ginkgo, sophora and cypress trees, and in the background the spire of a 11th century Roman church, refuge for one of the first Christian communities in the Jura region. The park, the private property of the occupants of the ground floor, is a haven of peace and silence that only the birds disturb. The very large terrace, south-facing, overlooking an impeccably well-kept and quiet park, is a room of its own, perfectly private and unoverlooked.
The remaining surprise that this flat has to offer is a large room in the attic, illuminated by two windows and with access via the back set of spiral stairs. This space could easily be converted into a bedroom, studio flat or storage space depending on what the occupants decide.
The entrance to the flat sets the tone: the staircase with its elaborate cast iron balustrade. The overall quality of the workmanship of the flat is a reflection of the first impression one has of the staircase. The location in the centre of the town with the private use of a listed park, just an hour from Lyon or Besançon, represents a set advantages that make this property a unique combination.
