Auteuil is a village, between Thoiry and Beynes, in the French department of Yvelines. With a rich past dating, no doubt, back to the stone age, the feudal domain of Autheüil was created in the 16th century. Witness is born to this by two sandstone boundary stones with coats-of-arms, delimiting the “châtellenie” (an officially recognised castle and its land). Saint-Santin chapel and its bas-relief also date from the 16th century.
Vines are cultivated here once again, convivially uniting inhabitants when it is time for them to be pruned, maintained and harvested. Infant and junior schools are near to the house. The N12 as well as the A12 and A13 motorways provide links to the centre of Paris, taking just 45 km from the village. Montfort-l’Amaury-Méré and Beynes train stations, 5 km away, are on the Transilien suburban train line N, taking 40 minutes to reach Montparnasse station.
The main house
This house dates from the early 19th century. Far from spoiling the building, its 1985 extension works gave it a new lease on life. Proof of this is to be found in the sliding picture windows in the summer lounge which add a sparkle to the facade.
The guest house
This fully renovated outbuilding comprises a lounge, with an open-plan kitchen, a shower room with a toilet and a bedroom under the rafters. It could also be used as accommodation for a caretaker or house an independent studio flat or an office for a self-employed person seeking to work from home.
The large outbuilding
This outbuilding standing near to the tennis court could be used as a function or games room. It includes a studio flat with a small kitchen area and a shower room. It awaits full renovation works throughout.
This shed includes an attic and a water supply point.
The swimming pool
This large, 6x12 m, unheated swimming pool is exposed to a great deal of sunlight as of the early afternoon.
The tennis court
The tennis court is isolated in the garden, looking out over fields with vines in the distance.
