This Bastide house widely dominates a traditional Provencal village, with its houses displaying their warms hues, its cool-running river, its many fountains as well as its languid cafés and restaurants along the main street, lined with age-old plane trees. Perched on a rocky barrier acting as setting for the village, it has a 180° view stretching into the distance over the foothills of Mount Sainte-Victoire, much appreciated and immortalised by French painter Cézanne.

The traditional Bastide house

A path, winding its way between the terracing, keeps a close watch on a vaulted wine cellar, completely hewn in the rock, followed a little further on by a series of caves and shelters under the rock, one of which has long been converted into an artist’s studio, spanning approx. 20 m², with an opening and a panoramic view over the valley. A ruin, which could once have been a sheepfold, is concealed by vegetation. The path comes to an end directly under the wall of the neighbouring ruined castle.
The terracing is dotted with old flights of stone steps, leading to alleyways, shaded by typically Mediterranean vegetation.
Once a shelter under the rock, this old artist’s studio was no doubt converted in the 18th or 19th century. Spanning approx. 20 m² and enhanced with an unobstructed panoramic view, it is surrounded by large succulent plants.
This property has two garages. One of them is hewn out of the rock, the other is a traditional construction. They stand at the entrance to the property, next to the entrance gates.
Caves and cellars
This property also includes three vaulted caves/cellars. One is set in the terracing, the other two are under the main terrace.
