Montmartre, a real melting pot of art and source of inspiration for the cinema, is a verdant hamlet with numerous gardens aa well as its vines.
This flat is to be found near to the “Moulin de la Galette”, an emblematic site where great painters such as Renoir, Picasso, Degas, Utrillo, Dufy, and Toulouse-Lautrec set up their easels.
Underground lines 12 and 2 can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes, just like the food shops in the Abbesses district, institutions such as “La Mascotte” and “A La Pomponnette”, as well as the “L’Atelier” and “Galabru” theatres, whilst not forgetting the cabarets, concert halls and shows such as “Moulin Rouge”, “Cabaret Michou”, “Divan du Monde”, “Madame Arthur”, “La Cigale” and “Elysée Montmartre”, all contributing to the district’s reputation.
Two successive numerical keypad security systems protect access to the flat.
A flight of steps leads, initially, to a first landing that could be used as a study area, a ladies’ sitting room or even a small spare bedroom.
The reception room is illuminated via two large windows and has numerous cupboards.
An open-plan kitchen, adjoining the living room, extends on to an attractively planted patio.
The master suite comprises a wardrobe, a slate tiled bathroom, fitted with a bath, a wash-hand basin and a toilet.
A quarter-turning stairway leads to the upper level and a second, smaller bedroom, its shower room and a toilet. Both terraces can be reached from this level.
Both terraces are laid with rot-resistant wood, a warm, easy-to-clean material creating a natural effect. The first 25 m² terrace, reached all on a level via the second bedroom, nestles in a verdant setting with bamboo, jasmine, roses, lavender and palm trees. An outdoor kitchen enhances this area. The second, 13 m² terrace, looking down on to the first, has an amazing view over all of Paris with, on one side, the Eiffel Tower, the Orsay Museum as well as the French Opera House with Mount Valérien and the Ile-de-France forests in the distance; on the other side are the “Moulin de la Galette” and the “Hameau des Artistes”.
With its narrow, paved streets, its basilica and its artists, Montmartre still resembles the village that artists found so attractive in the 19th century.
This Parisian flat, steeped in an improbable atmosphere, would ideally suit a couple or a small family.
