This flat is in Paris’ 16th arrondissement, on the heights of the Auteuil district, named after the village which became part of the French capital in 1860 and where numerous religious orders, still in activity, were based. The state secondary school, Lycée-Jean-Baptiste-Say, as well as other renowned private schools are nearby. The district has a good public transport system with underground lines 9 and 10, RER train line C as well as numerous bus routes (62-52-22). Good shops are not far away.

Description

This flat, in a small modern and luxurious building, is on the 6th and top floor. It spans a floor surface area of 96.5 m² and is surrounded by an unoverlooked, 78 m², south and east-facing terrace, all on a level. The entrance lobby provides access, left, to a toilet, then a bedroom, opening on to the terrace, followed by a bathroom which looks out over gardens. On the right-hand side are a lounge and a dining room, both opening on to the south-facing terrace. On the garden side, a bedroom and a kitchen are preceded by a vast dressing room. There is an extremely useful storage room on the 7th floor. Renovation works could but enhance this flat even more.

The flat
The modern, elegant building stands on the corner of two quiet streets. Its stone facades are adorned with balconies on every floor. This flat, reached via a lift, is the only one on the 6th floor. It spans a floor surface area of 96.5 m². It comprises a terrace, all on a level, which borders two sides of the flat and spans 78 m². Facing south, it extends all the reception rooms. It has a clear, totally undisturbed view. On the east side, the terrace is in front of the bedroom. On the right-hand side of the entrance lobby is a lounge, steeped in light courtesy of picture windows which open on to the south-facing terrace. A stone fireplace gives it a touch of elegance. This area is followed by a dining room which also faces south and opens on to the terrace. Outdoor blinds have been fitted for use in several kinds of weather. A vast dressing room precedes a bedroom which looks out over gardens. Facing in the same direction, the kitchen also has a door on to the back stairway. On the other side of the entrance lobby, a vast, bright bedroom has its own access on to the terrace. It is adjoined by a large bathroom. The door to the toilet is in the entrance lobby. A storage room on the 7th floor also belongs to the flat.

Our opinion

A house on a rooftop in Paris. Despite taking up the entire top floor and being almost doubled in size by its terrace, this property is indeed a flat set in a first-class building. On one side the nearby buildings are a pleasant reminder of what life in Paris is all about, on the other, the view stretches into the distance under the open skies of the Ile-de-France region. The site is extremely tranquil. Auteuil is an address that not only inspires confidence but also still exudes the character of the old village which has lasted somewhat.
