Location
The district of Batignolles, in Paris’ 17th arrondissement, experienced a very active cultural life in the second half of the 19th century, lived in as it was by great writers such as Paul-Verlaine, Stéphane-Mallarmé and Emile-Zola. Painters Sisley and Manet were also regular visitors to the district and its cafés. Today, the village character still remains, with restaurants, shops and numerous public establishments including the town hall, schools and a nursery.

This flat was fully renovated in 2006 by a renowned architect with the aim of prioritising space and clarity.
Our opinion
Paris has, like this, little miracles of reconciliation between flat and house, between interior areas and outdoor extensions. The middle-class Batignolles district abounds in well-constructed properties and exudes a pleasant village way of life. This 3-storey flat has been cleverly designed so that it is easy to move around and is extremely bright courtesy of its glazed partition walls and its airy stairway. A large terrace dominates the garden. It is almost as if the co-owned building did not exist. And the layout resulting from meticulous renovation works could be adapted to suit new family configurations.
