Location

This property is between Morlaix and Brest, near to many well-known seaside resorts. All local amenities such as doctors, shops, tourist facilities and schools are less than 10 minutes away. Morlaix TGV train station is 40 minutes away and Brest-Guipavas airport, with flights to Paris and Europe, is 30 minutes away. The ferry (Roscoff), providing links to England, Spain and Ireland, is 20 minutes away. Fine sandy beaches are to be found in the immediate vicinity.

Description

This superb, extremely spacious family home, with numerous bedrooms, was built in the second half of the 19th century (1885) and bears the Christian name of the first owner’s wife. It has remained in the same family until now and is but waiting for someone to write a new page of its history.

The manor house

This 3-storey manor house spans a total floor surface area of approx. 780 m².


Ground floor
The ground floor comprises a vestibule with wall panelling and cement floor tiles, a kitchen, a pantry, a laundry room, a dining room featuring a fireplace with a wooden mantel and trumeau, a study, a smoking room, a lounge and a billiards’ room.
First floor
The first floor includes 10 bedrooms, bathrooms and shower rooms as well as toilets.
Second floor
This level has 4 bedrooms as well as attic space. It also provides access to a belvedere with a view over the surroundings.

The parklands

These parklands span a surface area of 9.36 hectares. They are divided into several areas including an entrance courtyard, an old flower and vegetable garden, a lake, grasslands and woods. One section, spanning approx. 2 hectares, is building land.

The outbuildings

The outbuildings comprise several little separate buildings including:
A caretaker’s cottage spanning 2 floors, each approx. 40 m²;
A stable spanning approx. 60 m²;
A farm shed, for storing equipment, spanning approx. 70 m²;
A barn spanning approx. 55 m²;
An old greenhouse.

Our opinion

Two towers, on either side of the residence, demonstrate the building’s status. A projection, on one side, resembles the start of a wing; the 19th century constructers kept the building unpretentious without any of the era’s frills and fancies. The inside has a somewhat Victorian air which makes it very attractive. Some works need to be carried out which will please new owners as they will be able to add their own personal touches in line with their project. The sea is nearby, the parklands vast as well as varied and the outbuildings have accommodated horses. The section of the estate with building land gives additional free rein.
