The Provencal farmhouse
Used as a silkworm nursery in the 19th century, this traditional Mas house still has all of its original architectural features and materials: square and hexagonal terracotta floor tiles, beams, old doors, windows, doors and corridors with curves, fashioned by hand. The little stairways feature terracotta tiled steps with wooden nosing.
The main entrance, situated in the middle of the south facade, is accessed via a heavy arched doorway. Opposite, a corridor with a barrel vault ceiling leads to the staircase. On the west side, the dining room benefits from comfortable and spacious volumes with a high ceiling on one side, an arched window and French windows opening on to the garden at the south. Next to this area, a living room with marble fireplace and a bedroom opening out into the garden follow. On the east side, a kitchen, with interior courtyard running along it and opening on to a south-facing covered terrace, leads in to a large pantry of 27 m2 and then in to one of the garages.
A small staircase leads to a shower room, with a lovely exposed stone wall and a toilet.
A small set of steps leads to the first floor, comprising two south-facing bedrooms, one of which has a bathroom; the other facing north west, has a shower room and a toilet. The latter has an adjoining baby's room.
This is a split level, above the first floor and comprises two communicating bedrooms separated by five steps.
Group of buildings
The outbuildings include three garages spanning a total surface area of approx. 70 m2. One of them can be accessed directly from the house. A stone shed used as a technical room for the pool.
A true 18th century Provencal farmhouse with its thick walls to preserve the coolness in the summer with its large outbuildings. It has preserved its authenticity over time (terracotta tiles, beams, old doors, hand-dug wall openings).
