A large, luxurious home in a garden, spanning almost 4,000 m²,
along the meanders of the river Seine, 2 hours from Paris and 20 minutes from Rouen
Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville, SEINE-MARITIME upper-normandy 76840 FR

Two hours from Paris and twenty minutes from Rouen, in the Seine River Meanders Regional Nature Park, near to a market town with all local shops and amenities.

A road leads from the village to wrought iron gates surrounded by a Caumont stone wall. They open into a courtyard laid out in front of the house. Two driveways wind their way on either side to the garden on a slightly lower level.

The large, luxurious home

This rectangular house spans four levels, including a basement which gives access to the garden and a terrace. It is built from Saint-Jean brick on lower sections constructed from the local Caumont stone. The facades feature five bays, the levels separated by cornices. Four dormers embellish the hip, slate roof.

Garden level
Courtesy of the slightly sloping land, this level can be accessed from the terrace via double French windows that open into a bright, spacious dining room. The latter provides access to a kitchen, on one side, and a wide stairway, on the other.
Ground floor
Two flights of dressed stone steps, forming a U-shape, go up to double glazed doors set in the central bay. Topped with an arched pediment, they open into a vestibule. The latter leads, on one side, to a vast, bright lounge and, on the other, to a study. Facing the entrance doors, a tall, arched opening provides access to a vast room, with a marble fireplace, topped with a tall mirror, and herringbone pattern parquet flooring. The walls are lined with floor-to-ceiling panelling and the cornices are richly moulded.
First floor
A quarter-turning, wooden stairway goes up to a long corridor which leads to five bedrooms and two bathrooms. A door conceals a stairway going up to the attic space.
The house stands in the middle of the plot of land. It is surrounded by two half-timbered buildings, with hip, slate roofs.

Our opinion

The panoramic view offered to visitors arriving via the heights is captivating courtesy of the river Seine and the meadows stretching to the horizon. The village, almost entirely built during the Romanesque era at the foot of Saint-Georges’ Abbey, gives these premises a tranquil, serene atmosphere. Inside the house, an impression of space is confirmed by widely illuminated rooms.
