Legal Informations & CGU
In the south of the historic Touraine region, with its wealth of cultural and particularly architectural heritage, renowned for its mild climate. Tours, its TGV train station, with 60-minute links to Paris, and its international airport, with 90-minute flights to London, are just 40 minutes away. The town has all shops and amenities as well as two weekly markets. It is dominated by the medieval section where this walled property, with its wrought iron gates, is to be found.
The large, luxurious home
The main house, featuring classical architecture where symmetry is respected, is constructed from freestone which results in smooth rusticated masonry. The door, on a porch way, is flanked by fluted pilasters with cabling and topped with an elegant curved pediment roof dormer. Two short wings on each side have a roof dormer featuring an oculus.
The four-sided, pyramid roofs, the main one having a roof break, are covered in natural slate with an old zinc ridge.
The caretaker's cottage
The outside of the caretaker’s cottage, also constructed from freestone and topped with a natural slate roof, is in an excellent state of repair.
Independent of the main residence, it has its own separate entrance off of the street.
The tiled garage, able to house one car, is on the right-hand side of the entrance and its wrought iron gates, painted a midnight blue.
A small outbuilding, standing on the left-hand side, is currently in use as a library.
Wooded, landscaped parklands, spanning approx. 2,500 m², face south. They include a French formal garden, a vegetable garden, lawns, a garden shed and three wells, one of which is used for watering purposes.
There is a clear view, from these completely walled, unoverlooked parklands, of all the town’s historic monuments.
A second gate also provides entrance to this property.
Below the property are three cellars, all with terracotta floor tiles. They are in pristine condition and house the boiler room, a workshop, a wine cellar and a main reception cellar. They can also be reached from the outside via a stone stairway.
A little chateau standing in the shadow of a large one. The amazing view through the balustrade running along one side of these parklands, superbly laid out around this stately residence, takes in the monuments of the town, deemed royal during the Middle-Ages, the more recent sections of the town and, above all, its natural surroundings. Although history reigns all around, it is not pretentious. The dominant position gives a view of the wide open sky above the treetops. This protected sector is without noise, pollution and modern constructions. The minor interior decoration works required pale into insignificance when faced with such beauty.
