In Auteuil-Le-Roi, a 19th century house, extended and renovated in 2003,
set in 5,000 m² of grounds, with a swimming pool, a tennis court and outbuildings
Auteuil, YVELINES paris 78770 FR

Auteuil is a village, between Thoiry and Beynes, in the French department of Yvelines. With a rich past dating, no doubt, back to the stone age, the feudal domain of Autheüil was created in the 16th century. Witness is born to this by two sandstone boundary stones with coats-of-arms, delimiting the “châtellenie” (an officially recognised castle and its land). Saint-Santin chapel and its bas-relief also date from the 16th century.
Vines are cultivated here once again, convivially uniting inhabitants when it is time for them to be pruned, maintained and harvested. Infant and junior schools are near to the house. The N12 as well as the A12 and A13 motorways provide links to the centre of Paris, taking just 45 km from the village. Montfort-l’Amaury-Méré and Beynes train stations, 5 km away, are on the Transilien suburban train line N, taking 40 minutes to reach Montparnasse station.

The chapel, the church, the surrounding countryside and the little quiet streets in Auteuil make this village a setting which unnecessarily enhances this early 19th century home. Standing concealed behind high walls, it was extended in 1985 and renovated in 2003. Its wooded, but unobstructed, garden extends in front of terraces and a swimming pool, as well as towards one of the outbuildings and a tennis court. Harmonious extension works have created a superb, west-facing facade. This property comprises the main house, three outbuildings, including accommodation for a caretaker or guests or even a self-contained flat, a tennis court and a swimming pool with a summer kitchen.

The main house

This house dates from the early 19th century. Far from spoiling the building, its 1985 extension works gave it a new lease on life. Proof of this is to be found in the sliding picture windows in the summer lounge which add a sparkle to the facade.

Ground floor
The entrance hall, in the old section of the house, opens into a room, lined with panelling and featuring a fireplace as well as 19th century stone floor tiles with wooden inlaid decoration. On one side is a fully fitted kitchen. A corridor leading to the so-called new section provides access to a wardrobe, a shower room as well as a small study. A vast lounge with a fireplace, which could also be used as a guest dining room, has a floor combining strips of oak wood with stone tiles. A small discreet bar provides a link to the summer lounge, all in marble, with a fireplace. It precedes one of the terraces, the swimming pool and the summer kitchen, with a barbecue and a bar.
First floor
This level, intended for relaxation, has three vast bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet. The main bedroom has three openings, an exposed roofing framework and a marble bathroom with a separate toilet. A small laundry room and a sauna awaiting works complete this level.
A large dormitory-bedroom is laid out under the beams, together with a bathroom and toilet.

The guest house

This fully renovated outbuilding comprises a lounge, with an open-plan kitchen, a shower room with a toilet and a bedroom under the rafters. It could also be used as accommodation for a caretaker or house an independent studio flat or an office for a self-employed person seeking to work from home.

The large outbuilding

This outbuilding standing near to the tennis court could be used as a function or games room. It includes a studio flat with a small kitchen area and a shower room. It awaits full renovation works throughout.

The shed

This shed includes an attic and a water supply point.

The swimming pool

This large, 6x12 m, unheated swimming pool is exposed to a great deal of sunlight as of the early afternoon.

Technical room for the pool

The tennis court

The tennis court is isolated in the garden, looking out over fields with vines in the distance.

Our opinion

The ambiguity of this property’s location, just 45 minutes from Paris, can but be positive in that it is equally suitable as a permanent residence for Parisians as a holiday home bordering the countryside. Its ever-present spaciousness, steeped in fresh air, is rare in Paris. The modern-day home comforts and facilities featured in this residence, combined with the advantages specific to the countryside, give this property a rare equilibrium. The presence of outbuildings and a swimming pool enhance the quality of this location.
