Location
The town of Le-Plessis-Robinson is in the French department of Hauts-de-Seine. Pierre-de-Montesquiou, known as the Count-d’Artagnan, lived here in the 17th century. During the 19th century, the town, which looks out over the Vallée-aux-Loups (valley of the wolves), filled with open-air cafés with dance floors and with dance halls, attracting thousands of Parisians every Sunday. Just 8 km from the Porte-d’Orléans, city gates leading to Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the town is near the N118, providing easy access to Paris and the Seine embankments. A renowned market and numerous shops are to be found in this town, much-appreciated by families. Greatly transformed over recent years, it has become a reference for Ile-de-France style constructions.
Description
The house
The house is divided into three sections: a garden level, a ground floor and a first floor where the bedrooms are to be found. The garden level is a vast area, spanning a total of more than 150 m², laid out for professional purposes with several offices. It has seven rooms, all independent of one another. The ground floor is used as living space. The entrance hall provides access to a wide living room. This room, with strip pattern parquet flooring, is both a lounge and a dining room. It is steeped in light courtesy of wide picture windows and a veranda that looks out over the parklands. The modern kitchen is extremely functional. The first floor is taken up by a master suite, composed of a bedroom, a large dressing room and a bathroom. The relaxation area, laid with comfortable carpet, features a billiard table and a games room. The room opens on to an upstairs, south-facing terrace, spanning a surface area of 40 m².
Adjoining the main house, a 90 m² flat, comprising a terrace, a kitchen and a bathroom, could be used for accommodating staff.
Our opinion
Trees for as far as the eye can see, absolute peace and quiet as well as spacious rooms and areas bathed in light. This outstanding setting will undoubtedly meet the expectations of the new owners, whether they use the property as a main residence or for offices. Designed by an architect, the house is an ode to nature and benefits from a tranquillity worthy of a country home. Its picture windows turn the garden into an additional room and its terraces form an obvious connection with the pastoral surroundings of the estate, a model for this style of construction.
