Description

This mansion situated on a lake front in 1,595m2 of garden, spans 350 m2 living space, to which must be added a basement and a garage. Built around 1860, on a Palladian inspired model, it was one of the first villas to be built in the town of Le-Vésinet.
On the ground floor: an entrance, a triple reception room with large bay windows that look out on to a terrace dominating the garden and the lake, a cloakroom and an old kitchen await restoration.
In the upper floors, five bedrooms each with a shower or bathroom, one of which has an adjoining terrace and a parental suite with wardrobe and private terrace.
The basement area has been converted into several rooms: a kitchen, a dining room, a cloakroom, a wine cellar, a boiler room and several other storage rooms.
Less than ten minutes from the station in the town centre.
Le-Vésinet, built at the end of 19th century on the English garden-city model, is classified as a historic town and is carefully preserved. With the same unspoilt setting as in the past, the quality of life here is rare.

The house

Standing alongside the town’s oldest lake, this house was designed around 1860 by architect Pierre-Joseph-Olive, in association with the Count of Choulot, as part of the development of Le-Vésinet. It was the first residence of Alphone-Pallu, founder and first mayor of Le-Vésinet. With its brick and stone walls, its entablatures, its toothed quoins as well as its arched and triangular pediments, its architecture was clearly inspired by classical architecture, the work of Palladio and Italian Renaissance lines.

Ground floor
A vast entrance hall for welcoming guests. It leads to a double sitting room decorated with a pink marble fireplace and large bay windows looking out on to the garden. It opens on to a terrace leading to the lake. Facing the entrance, a dining room also gives access to the terrace. Leading on from here, a kitchen with its own direct entrance from outside. A guest cloakroom completes this level.
First floor
An elegant and refined curved staircase leads up to a corridor and towards a bedroom with a shower room, a bedroom (or study) with its own terrace and finally a parental suite comprising a built-in wardroom, bedroom and private terrace overlooking the garden and the lake. Separate toilet.
Second floor
On this floor, a separate toilet, a bedroom with en-suite bathroom and toilet, a bedroom with a shower room and another bedroom with a bathroom. All of the rooms are well illuminated by a number of windows.
Basement
The basement area comprises a kitchen and dining room with direct access to outside, a toilet, a boiler room and several other large storage rooms and a vaulted wine cellar.

Our opinion

This family house is an elegant residence giving an impression of a place of leisure. Its waterfront location and the lush foliage of its park offer a holiday feeling. The fluidity of the indoor and outdoor areas, their permanent communication make it easy to forget how close it is to the French capital.
Lakesides like sea sides have something magical about them, they seem to just carry you away.
