Description

This manor house is reached via a hundred metre long driveway, lined with two hundred year old beech trees, which plunges it into the privacy of wooded parklands, forming a verdant setting. This residence, composed of a central section and two wings, stands in an enclosed courtyard, accessed via a porch way.

The manor house

The oldest, central section dates from 1550. It includes a typical turret featuring corbelling which conceals a small stairway. The right wing is smaller in size. It comprises living accommodation and a 19th century chapel. The left wing is an old outbuilding that has been renovated and is now habitable.

Ground floor
An entrance hall in the central section houses a large stone stairway and provides access on either side to vast lounges and a dining room, all with fireplaces.
The right wing features another entrance providing access to a lounge which precedes the chapel as well as two garages.
The left wing, renovated as a function room, has two facade entrances and a large gable opening.

First floor
The large stairway in the main section of the residence leads to a lounge and a bedroom.
A little stairway in the right wing leads to some adjoining rooms comprising a kitchen and a pantry, a lounge and a bedroom with a bathroom.

Second floor
This floor, reached via the stairway housed in the turret with corbelling, is divided into two bedrooms and an attic.
A small stairway in the right wing leads to a studio flat, comprising a bedroom and kitchen in the attic space.

Our opinion

Both the interior and the exterior decor reveal the venerable age of this irreproachable manor house. The enclosed courtyard, formed by stately buildings, reflects the privacy and warmth of the rooms. The omnipresence of stone is obvious but in no way cold. The premises are currently given over to exhibitions and functions. A large family could settle here quite happily once a few conversion works have been carried out.
