This property is 3 hours from Paris by car and 30 minutes from Tours, with its TGV train station providing 1-hour links to the French capital. 15 minutes from the medieval town of Loches, with its two large weekly markets as well as all shops and amenities. A private, landscaped street leads to the manor house and its fully enclosed garden.


This manor house, in its countrified setting, stands in the midst of an area spanning more than 4,000 m², comprising a large gravel courtyard, several outbuildings and an beautifully kept, landscaped garden. It dates from the beginning of the 16th century and is flanked by a large round tower. It constituted a fiefdom governed by Loches castle.

The manor house

This manor house, with its steep slate roof, is composed of a main, 2-storey building, flanked with an impressive tower on the south-west side. The Virginia creeper covering a section of the walls provides a verdant touch.

Ground floor
The ground floor has terracotta floor tiles and exposed oak wood ceiling beams throughout. An entrance hall provides access to a living room, enhanced with an impressive stone fireplace, a vestibule, a toilet and a lounge, also with a large fireplace. The tower can be reached via a small lounge at the end of the building.
A second entrance hall provides access to a very large, fully fitted professional kitchen, followed by a back kitchen and lastly a storeroom.
A wine cellar is housed under the tower.
A spiral stone stairway in the tower goes up to three bedrooms, with terracotta floor tiles and exposed ceiling beams.

First floor
A central stairway leads to a landing housing a toilet and a shower room. On the left-hand side is a large living room, with a stone fireplace and, on the right-hand side, a master bedroom with a bathroom and dressing room.
A vast attic on the second floor is laid out under an exposed oak wood roofing framework.
Group of buildings
A first barn, set at right angles to the manor house, is used as a storage area whilst a second barn, notably, houses the boiler room as well as a workshop. There are also three small cellars and a woodshed.
A large open garage, able to take several parked cars, stands facing the manor house.

The parklands
Garden furniture is set out on a large, south-facing, paved terrace. It is followed by a large gravel courtyard which precedes the landscaped parklands and the vegetable garden, both of which are enclosed by a thick hedge and a wall. The parklands are planted with flower beds, miscellaneous species of shrubs and lawns. A borehole on the property is used for watering purposes.

Our opinion

Nothing here has been adulterated, the soberness of the manor house manifestly exudes an authenticity that is immediately obvious, with plenty of privacy and much appreciated outbuildings. And then the professional kitchen demonstrates the full range of roles that new residents can undertake in a place that is immaculately kept and full of harmony. The vegetable garden provides the healthiest products whilst the parklands are ideal for contemplation during those moments of relaxation.
