mansion houses for sale - seine-et-marne - 30 km from paris

A middle-class home with its outbuilding, used for professional purposes,
30 km from Paris in a historic town in the French department of Seine-et-Marne

Location

This property, in Brie-Comte-Robert with its renowned medieval historic centre, stands in a quiet, residential street. It is within walking distance of a small but reasonably-sized shopping centre. This extremely dynamic town has all amenities, shops, hospitals and schools as well as cultural and sports associations. It is but half an hour by car from the French capital via the Francilienne ring road.

Description

This middle-class residence is set between its main courtyard and its parklands, all enclosed by walls and fencing.
A gateway with double gates forms the main entrance to the property. Another totally independent entrance off the street provides access to an annex building used for professional purposes.
The main, 19th century residence spans three levels, excluding the cellars. It features rendered facades and a slate roof.
The outbuilding, on the left-hand side of the entrance, is decorated with moulded panels and brick framing around the openings. It has an interlocking tile roof.

The middle-class home

This building comprises a central section which is slightly raised in relation to its two side wings. The right wing is flanked by a single-storey extension which is topped with a zinc terrace, featuring stone balusters around its perimeter. The house is entered via a flight of steps, protected by an elegant canopy.

Ground floor
The front door, in the middle of the central section, opens into a small entrance hall, paved with marble floor tiles. A through living room on the left-hand side features picture windows, windows and a stone fireplace in good working order. It is followed by a bright, through conservatory, paved with marble floor tiles. This room is illuminated via 3 picture windows, only two of which can be opened.
Straight on from the entrance hall, a dining room has French windows opening on to the parklands. A fully fitted, functional and modern kitchen, on the right-hand side, encourages residents to linger with its central marble table.

Half-story
There is a toilet between the ground and first floors.
First floor
This level is reached via a marble stairway with wrought iron railings. The concrete screed floor is carpeted. The first bedroom is a master suite that opens on to a terrace above the conservatory. It includes a dressing room, a bathroom with a shower and two wash-hand basins. There are a further two bedrooms, one of which has its own shower room.
Second floor
This floor is reached via a solid oak wood stairway. It comprises two sections:
1) attic space which could be converted on one side.
2) on the other, a fourth bedroom, reached via 4 steps, with a picturesque view of the church. There are also a bathroom with a sloping ceiling, a fifth bedroom also with a sloping ceiling and a sixth bedroom.

Cellar
The vaulted cellars comprise a workshop and a boiler room.

The outbuilding: offices

This totally independent building has its own entrance, directly off the street. It spans two levels and the large openings let copious amounts of light into the rooms.

Ground floor
Entrance hall, multi-purpose room, a kitchen area for lunches, a boiler room, a toilet, 3 offices.
First floor
A smaller level comprising two good-sized offices and another little area.

Our opinion

The main house, with its three sections and its smooth rusticated masonry, simply exudes charm. A first successful feature, a single-storey extension on its left-hand side, which made the creation of a terrace possible and in no way spoils the facade. A second successful feature, an extremely elegant outbuilding, with brick framed openings and moulded panels, used for professional purposes. Said outbuilding is completely independent, as for the sale, even though it is difficult to match such a property, so close to Paris, when seeking to combine family life with a professional activity.
