The train station, with hourly links to Paris-Gare-de-Lyon taking less than an hour, is but a few minutes’ walk from the house. All shops, a market, a theatre, a cinema and restaurants with their ever-lively terraces as well as the very well-known Fontainebleau Palace are just ten minutes away.


This property, set in the centre of the village, can be accessed indifferently by its two sets of gates, both made of wrought iron. The first set leads directly to the house. There is a garage on the left-hand side. The second set open on to a vegetable garden and an orchard.
The house dominates its entire garden with a wide view over a plant maze and a lake with a central islet. The lower section of the garden is crossed by a brook, spanned by a little bridge leading to a copse.

The house

This house, dating from 1954, is constructed from rendered stone and topped with roof tiles. The front facade on the ground floor is widely open along its full length courtesy of a veranda, extended by a terrace with its stone balustrade. The first floor also has a large open veranda overlooking the garden on one of its gable walls.
This house, built over a cellar, spans a floor surface area of approx. 290 m² spread over two levels under a converted attic floor.

Ground floor
A first marble stairway goes upstairs from the main entrance hall; a second stairway goes to the cellar. A cupboard opens directly into the entrance hall. On the left-hand side is a fitted kitchen whilst, on the right-hand side, a large, extremely bright lounge, spanning approx. 85 m², features a fireplace and a wood-pellet-burning stove, operating as a boiler. Following on is a room in use as a library, a bedroom and then a bathroom.
First floor
This level comprises three bedrooms, one of which has its own shower room and another is laid out as a study, with a veranda. There is also a billiards’ room, a toilet and a cupboard.
A little stairway goes up to the attic space.

This area has been divided into three rooms.

The garage can take 2 cars. A greenhouse completes this property.

The garden

This extremely lush garden extends over approx. 2.425 ha. It comprises multiple very distinct areas. Towards the heights are a vegetable garden and an orchard. A fishpond has been added near to the house. Further down are a plant maze and a large lake, with a central islet, which can be reached via a little, slightly arched bridge. On the lower level, a brook running through the grounds is followed by a copse; this section is completely unoverlooked as it is adjoined by green-belt woods.

Our opinion

As in the words of Frenchman Charles Trenet’s song “C'est un jardin extraordinaire!” (It’s an extraordinary garden). This house, standing in the midst of a setting where plants are enhanced by the presence of water, is like a sort of belvedere looking out over its natural surroundings from its many openings. The large surface area of these grounds so near to Paris, the presence of water and the little bridges, like an allusion to Giverny, as well as the greenhouse are all pretexts for daydreaming and will please garden lovers. The large floor surface area of the house will, after a few rehabilitation works, appeal in total comfort to authentic enthusiasts of extremely pleasant, tamed natural settings.
