Location

This property, on Cape Sizun, is some thirty kilometres from Quimper, with its TGV train station and its airport (75-minute flights to Paris-Orly). All local shops are 5 minutes away.

Description

This house, in a dominant position overlooking Audierne Bay, is sheltered from all nuisances at the end of a no-through road. A small front garden sets the building slightly back from the coastal path, with the majority of the grounds extending behind the house.
The setting is quite unspoilt.

The house

This house, dating from the 1940’s, was constructed on older foundations. The stone walls are rendered and the roof covered with slate tiles. Full restoration works were carried out just a few years ago. It spans approx. 115 m² of living space over two levels.


Ground floor
There are two entrance doors, one at the front and one at the back of the house. The main entrance hall, with its cement floor tiles, provides access, straight on, to a stairway, under which a toilet has been installed. On the right-hand side is a bedroom-study and, on the left, an open-plan kitchen and a lounge, with its oak wood parquet flooring. These are followed by a back kitchen, which opens on to a large terrace, paved with old tiles.
First floor
The landing leads to two large bedrooms, a bathroom, a dressing room and a toilet.

The outbuilding

A building, adjoining the house, is home to the wood-pellet boiler and its store of pellets.

Our opinion

The seascapes framed by the windows have the advantage of changing every day in accordance with the hues given to the sea and the rocks by the sky and the light. Residents run the risk of being torn between the warm, cosy interior and the appeal of long walks along the coastal path. Contemplation can be combined with sport on the neighbouring surf beaches. With such an attraction, it would be wise to convert the upstairs of the outbuilding into a guest bedroom.
