The main house
This main house comprises two buildings standing one after another. One, built of brick and stone, was once home to a sharecropper, and the other, originally a sheepfold built of freestone and rubblestone, was topped with an upstairs in 1980. The openings are numerous. The half-moon shaped openings on the ground floor look out on to the courtyard whilst four openings in the west facade look out over the old tower. The vaulted cellar is accessed via the kitchen, fitted with a cooker featuring 7 burners and 3 ovens, making it possible to cook for large parties.
Two south-facing reception rooms and a study. A shower room on the mezzanine floor. Upstairs, one small and 3 large bedrooms, a large landing currently in use as a games room and a large bathroom. The house spans a floor surface area of 229 m².
The former stables: the guest house
Built of freestone and rubblestone, its ground floor openings feature the same half-moon shape in harmonious keeping with the rest of the central courtyard. On the ground floor, a billiards’ room and a linen room. Upstairs, two bedrooms with sloping ceilings and a shower room. Electric heating upstairs. Underfloor heating on the ground floor. (Air-to-water heat pump). Total floor surface area of 65 m².
The former stables: the holiday accommodation unit
The ground floor comprises a vestibule, a reception room and a kitchen, created in the former home of the groom.
Upstairs are 3 large bedrooms with sloping ceilings and 2 bathrooms.
The 28 m² boiler room is accessed via the private garden. Electric heating upstairs, underfloor heating on the ground floor (air-to-water heat pump). Total floor surface area of 180 m².
The caretaker’s cottage
Set under the covered courtyard, this former workshop, built in the 1950’s, was completely renovated in 2006.
The ground floor comprises a living room with an open-plan kitchen, a large bedroom and its bathroom.
Upstairs are a large bedroom, a shower room and a storage room.
The heating is electric. Total floor surface area of 122 m².
Opening on to “La via Turonensis” or Way of St James passing through the town of Tours, as well as on to the well-known GR655 hiking trail, this site has very hospitable, natural surroundings and appears to be totally devoted to receiving guests. Its widely open entrance gives the impression that it is holding its arms open to welcome its visitors.
This family property has become a rallying point for a whole group of people who come to enjoy the peaceful countryside and the proverbial mild Tours’ climate, and there is no reason why it should change.
It does, however, have strong conversion potential due to its modular structure and its location in amongst the Loire chateaux, notably taking advantage of the events that are held on a regular basis in the neighbouring castle, which is open to the general public and to which it once belonged.
