These properties, bearing witness to the 17th century, stand near to the small craftsmen’s workshops and the good restaurants that make the area such a pleasant place to live. There is also a good public transport system nearby with bus routes and the Sully-Morland, Pont-Marie, Cité and Saint-Paul underground stations. The RER line B train station on Ile-de-la-Cité provides direct links to Roissy and Orly airports.


This mansion house was built in 1639. Carriage gates open into a wooded, paved courtyard. Virginia creeper climbs along the building’s walls. The main stairway, said to be the work of Louis-Le-Vau, is listed.

The front door opens into a living room, illuminated via two large, west-facing windows, with a view taking in Parisian rooftops and the sky. The ridge beams have been left exposed and, in the centre of the room, are at a height of 4.50 m. A fully fitted, L-shaped kitchen opens on to the living room. It is followed by a first bedroom, or study, which also looks out over the rooftops and the sky. It adjoins a shower room, with a toilet. A modern stairway goes up to the second level. The master bedroom, illuminated via a remote-controlled skylight, features a wardrobe. It has its own shower room, with a toilet, and cupboards, including a laundry room area as well as a skylight.
An architect redesigned this flat and carried out first-class works five years ago.

Our opinion

Refined and welcoming, this is one of those places that fuel dreams and evoke a completely imaginary universe “as near as possible to the Seine, as far as possible from Paris”. The pleasant atmosphere reigning here will surreptitiously appeal to visitors who will find themselves instinctively appreciating the flat. Louis XIV’s Age of Reason blends quite naturally with our era, establishing a fascinating continuity in the midst of what was once the centre of the world.
