Description

On the second floor of a historic building on Rue-Saint-Louis-en-l'Île, in the middle of Île-Saint-Louis, between Quai-de-Bourbon and Quai-de-Béthune. The flat

Set on the second floor, reached via a wide stairway, this L-shaped flat is illuminated via three wide windows set out around a verdant paved courtyard. The entrance hall, with its terracotta floor tiles, leads, right, to a shower room with mottled tiles and a separate toilet. The open-plan kitchen, with its dusty pink wall, is fully fitted. The 30 m² living room, heated via a fireplace with a carved wooden mantel, is next to the dining room where a wide marble top table can seat six people. The exposed beams and the central joist, encircled by brushed steel, are at a height of 3.80 m and reinforce the flat’s cosy atmosphere. An original wooden door provides access to the suite and its veined marble shower room.

Our opinion

It is possible to gaze tirelessly at the majestic architecture of the mansion houses standing on this little island which is a bit like Paris’ navel. This flat forms a deeply soothing and romantic haven in the heart of this historic enclave which, century after century, has remained ever sought-after. The rooms therein enhance the original decorative features and its fine renovation works have introduced a carefully balanced contemporary touch. Newcomers will be captivated by the surroundings and will take great pleasure in watching the effects of the changing seasons on this eternally fashionable setting.
