The flat

The large entrance gallery leads, left, to a lounge and a dining room opening all on a level out on to the balcony running alongside. Wrought moulding adorns the 3.1 m high ceilings. A meticulously finished, classical style fireplace takes pride of place in the lounge. Its white marble mantel is topped with a mirror trumeau. Opposite is a study, illuminated via protruding stained glass windows. The kitchen, opening directly on to the balcony, is big enough to take the family at meal times. All four bedrooms look out over the courtyard; one has an adjoining bathroom. There are also a shower room, a toilet and a large dressing room, set up in a former toilet. The back door, set at the other end of the flat provides access to two maid’s bedrooms. All the rooms are extremely bright.

Our opinion

Set in the chicest section of an arrondissement in full revival, this elegant flat with its four bedrooms and its large kitchen, bringing that of a country house to mind, would be ideal for a large family. The study could be transformed into a dining room or even into an additional bedroom and the dressing room could be turned back into a toilet. Some improvement and modernisation works would make it possible for the new owners to add their own personal touches to this flat.
