Jasmine, sandalwood, rose water and orange blossom ... the names of each room are already an invitation to relaxation, travel and exoticism in themselves. Provence, however, can be felt all around - in the hot, dry stones, the inimitable blue of the sky reflected in the lake, and the soft green of the plants. But do not be deceived by this property, beneath ancient ramparts and the traditional appearance of a winemaker's house lies a temple dedicated to epicurean pleasures.
For twenty years we had a soft spot for this region as we would often come here on holiday. The sun and ever present light means the surrounding nature is full of energy: scrubland, lavender, fields of fruit trees, vineyards, natural pools in Gard and Gardon - we realised it was the perfect place to re-energise. Eight years ago, we fell in love with this house and after thinking carefully about it we knew we wanted to live here and quickly packed our bags. We love hosting and sharing: Pascale takes care of yoga, cooking and detox juices, Bruno is in charge of massages, the garden and laughter. Life has never been sweeter!
It is a former winemaker's house decorated with beautiful cement tiles and painted with lime and process-coloured concrete. The sheltered bucolic garden is surrounded by the old ramparts of the village. In fact, the house is located on Rue des Barris, a name which is often used in medieval villages to mean "the walkway" or "the ramparts of the village".
Built in the 1850s, the house had a wine business until 2003. It was then transformed into a guest house. The main room opens onto the garden and the yoga space. Massages take place in what was once the large vault room and the apartments on the first floor have become the rooms for our guests.
The motto of our house is "make sense of your senses". Here, the old stones blend harmoniously with the antique furniture and contemporary fabrics. Three of the five rooms are equipped with a Jacuzzi and all allow you to enjoy a hot, relaxing bath with essential oils. Everything is done to ensure a pleasant stay with delicious breakfasts, yoga, massages, a nice garden, a swimming pool fringed with stones and a gourmet table d'hôte that revisits the classics of the kitchen Provencal. We always make an effort to get to know our guests who inspire us to travel.
Our medieval village is connected to the surrounding villages by beautiful little roads and stunning trails that can be explored on foot or by bike. The gorges and natural pools along the Gard and Gardon are exceptional. The village of Saint-Victor-la-Coste beneath the remains of the chateau is a timeless place close to the house and on the way to Sainte-Baume. The village goat cheese farm allows you to relive the beautiful and simple things in life. In Uzès, we particularly like the restaurant Le tracteur, but we have a whole list of restaurants and products to share with our guests. For those who want to go and see the sea, we are only an hour from La Camargue, Aigues-Mortes and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

A large main room with an open kitchen, living room and fireplace leads directly to the garden. Guests can enjoy this space freely as well as the garden and the terraces. In fine weather, all meals are served outside in the shady garden. The massage and yoga room is on the ground floor.
